Summary
Effective October 1, 2020, Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) removed 13 CPT codes from the list of valid FQHC and RHC encounter codes, including consultation codes, preventive counseling codes, and several vaccines and lab tests. These codes can no longer be billed as encounter codes for federally qualified health centers and rural health clinics in Indiana Medicaid.
Action Required
By October 1, 2020: FQHC and RHC billing teams in Indiana must remove the 13 specified CPT codes from their encounter billing system configurations. Update billing software to prevent these codes from being submitted as encounter codes to Indiana Medicaid. Review the updated valid encounter code list on the Myers and Stauffer website at mslc.com/Indiana.
