Summary
The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) identified claims that incorrectly denied with EOB code 1004 for rendering providers who had new IHCP Provider IDs created. These denied claims will be automatically mass reprocessed, with reprocessed claims appearing on remittance advices beginning November 22, 2023.
Action Required
Beginning November 22, 2023: Billing team should monitor remittance advices for reprocessed claims with internal control numbers (ICNs)/Claim IDs that begin with '80'. No immediate action required as claims will be automatically reprocessed by IHCP. If questions arise about reprocessed claims, contact Customer Assistance at 800-457-4584.
