Summary
Effective July 1, 2026, KMAP (Kansas Medicaid) is adding 18 new covered HCPCS codes and discontinuing code C9309. The billing team must update their system to recognize these new codes for claims processing and remove C9309 from billing workflows to avoid claim denials.
Action Required
Before July 1, 2026: Billing team must update billing software and claims processing system to add the 18 new covered codes (A9574, C9310, J0528, J1289, J1577, J2361, J2374, J2789, J3405, J7176, J9053, J9062, J9232, Q0234, Q5164-Q5171) and remove C9309 from the active billing code library. Verify MCO implementation status on the KanCare Open Claims Resolution Log prior to July 1 as MCO system updates may vary. After July 1, 2026, any claims submitted with C9309 will be denied, and new codes will only be covered if submitted with dates of service on or after July 1, 2026.
