Summary
Kansas Medicaid (KMAP) has added 44 new covered HCPCS codes and terminated 20 existing codes effective April 1, 2024. This affects billing for medical supplies, injections, prosthetics, and various procedures under Kansas Medicaid managed care plans.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update billing software to include the 44 newly covered HCPCS codes (A4438, A4564, A4593, etc.) and remove/inactivate the 20 terminated codes (C9159-C9165, E2300, etc.) for Kansas Medicaid claims with dates of service on/after April 1, 2024. Update encounter forms and fee schedules. Monitor KanCare MCO implementation dates as they may vary from the April 1st effective date. Claims using terminated codes will be denied.
