Summary
Kansas Medicaid (KMAP) is adding 13 new HCPCS codes for coverage and discontinuing 6 existing codes effective April 1, 2026. Billing teams must update their systems to use the new codes and stop billing the discontinued ones.
Action Required
By April 1, 2026: Billing team must update billing system to include new covered HCPCS codes C9309, J1164, J1553, J3404, J8502, J9003, J9183, J9277, J9278, J9601, L5992, Q0238, Q5161, Q5162 for Kansas Medicaid claims. Remove discontinued codes C9145, C9307, C9308, L6000, L6010, L6020 from billing system. Update encounter forms and provider references. Monitor KanCare MCO implementation dates as they may vary from the state effective date.
