Summary
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana has enhanced their WebPass Portal to now include Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) authorization requests. Additionally, effective March 1, 2018, providers must use self-service tools for member eligibility, claim status, allowable charges, and medical policy searches - these services are no longer handled by the Customer Care Center.
Action Required
Immediately: Train staff to use self-service tools (iLinkBlue portal, IVR system at 1-800-922-8866, or HIPAA 27x transactions) for member eligibility checks, claim status inquiries, allowable charge searches, and medical policy searches. Update office procedures as Customer Care Center no longer handles these requests initially. ABA providers should access WebPass Portal through iLinkBlue for authorization requests.
