Summary
BCBS Rhode Island is expanding its New England Health Plan (NEHP) offerings with BlueCHiP regional plans effective October 1, 2017, requiring members to select a primary care provider. The BlueLine automated system will be unavailable from September 15 to October 27, 2017, requiring providers to use bcbsri.com for eligibility and claims inquiries.
Action Required
Before October 1, 2017: Update practice workflows to accommodate NEHP BlueCHiP regional plan members who must have PCP selections. From September 15 to October 27, 2017: Stop using BlueLine system and transition to bcbsri.com for member eligibility, benefit information, and claims status inquiries.
