Summary
The Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has extended coverage for COVID-19 testing codes through May 11, 2023, but claims with dates of service on or after May 12, 2023, will be denied. Previously denied claims between April 1-May 11, 2023, will be automatically reprocessed starting August 20, 2023.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must stop submitting claims for COVID-19 testing codes U0003, U0004, U0005, G2023, and G2024 for any dates of service on or after May 12, 2023, as these will be automatically denied. Monitor Remittance Advices starting August 20, 2023, for reprocessed claims with ICNs beginning with 52 or 80 for previously denied claims from April 1-May 11, 2023.
