Action needed
REQUIREMENTS: - By mid-September 2026: Behavioral health and clinic leadership should review the updated Tribal Provider Manual and submit any feedback to doh.hcs.operations.info@alaska.gov with subject line "(specific manual name) Billing Manual Comments" to be included in the October update. - Immediately: Billing team must update enrollment submission procedures: (1) clarify that both digital and manual signatures are acceptable on all enrollment forms; (2) implement practice to send one email per Provider ID when submitting multiple updates or affiliation changes; (3) train staff that provider enrollment responses will come via email in consistent format, not through DSM portal. - Immediately: Claims team must update procedures for dual-eligible beneficiaries: when Medicare does not cover a service, bill Alaska Medicaid directly and attach proof of non-coverage in lieu of EOB explanation. Coordinate with providers on TPL bypass documentation. - Ongoing: Behavioral health providers with Optum portal access should contact doh.dbh.mpassunit@alaska.gov (include "[CLAIMS]" in subject line) when unable to locate specific claims or Remittance Advices without claim numbers rather than attempting manual searches. - As needed: When Organization Administrator accounts become inactive, complete and submit Organization Administrator Change Request form to reactivate access. - Inform all authorized representatives using DocuSign: for two-signer forms, representatives can initiate but authorized signers remain responsible for accuracy, signatures, and submission.
