Summary
Highmark is transitioning oncology prior authorization management to Evolent effective May 1, 2026. Additional medical and radiation oncology codes will require prior authorization, and providers must complete training to prepare for the new workflow.
Action Required
Before May 1, 2026: Oncology providers must register for and complete Evolent's live virtual training sessions on the new prior authorization process. Visit the Evolent resource page to register. Billing team must prepare to upload supporting clinical documentation to the Evolent CarePro portal for requests requiring review while continuing to submit initial authorization requests through Availity Essentials.
