Summary
Nevada Medicaid now allows Indian Health Services and Urban Indian Organizations (Provider Type 17, Specialty 182) to bill Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) device services separately under Fee-for-Service instead of only through PPS encounter rates. Previously denied claims will be automatically reprocessed.
Action Required
Immediately: Only applies to Provider Type 17 Specialty 182 (Indian Health Services/Urban Indian Organizations) in Nevada. If your practice fits this category, update billing system to allow separate billing of LARC device codes alongside PPS encounter rates. Ensure NDC numbers are included with J-codes. Monitor remittance advice for automatically reprocessed claims that previously denied with error codes 4801 or 757.
