Summary

Illinois is transitioning Medicare-Medicaid Alignment Initiative (MMAI) members to Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs). When the MEDI system shows both a FIDE SNP and HCI plan, providers must submit claims to the FIDE SNP, not the HCI plan listed in the Managed Care Organization section.

Action Required

Action needed
Immediately: Billing team must check MEDI enrollment verification for all dual eligible members. When both FIDE SNP (in Medicare Advantage section) and HCI plan (in Managed Care section) are listed, submit claims to the FIDE SNP only. Verify enrollment monthly with FIDE SNPs as members can switch plans monthly. Contact HFS.DSNPInquiries@Illinois.gov for questions.
