01Already effective March 1, 2020: Billing team: submit telepractice behavioral health services with the same procedure codes used for in-person services, and add the GT modifier on each claim line.
02Billing team: for services delivered by telephone (audio only) during the COVID-19 emergency, enter 'services provided via telephone' in the remarks section of the claim.
03Providers: make sure the telepractice requirements are met, including a facilitator physically present at the originating site for the entire session and a contingency plan that includes referral to an acute care facility or emergency room as necessary for the beneficiary's safety.
04The telephone policy is intended to be time-limited, so check current applicability before billing audio-only services, since MDHHS will notify providers of its termination.
