Summary
Connecticut Medicaid (CMAP) will begin reimbursing certified providers for children's mental health urgent crisis services effective April 1, 2024. Only DCF-licensed outpatient psychiatric clinics certified for these services can enroll and bill using specific CPT and HCPCS codes.
Action Required
By April 1, 2024: Providers must obtain DCF certification as an Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic for Children and certification for urgent crisis services. Update provider enrollment in CMAP Web Portal Demographic Maintenance panel and upload DCF certification documents. Billing team must configure system to accept new billing codes (96127, T1001, T1002, 90791, 90792, 90839, 90840, H2011) for children's mental health crisis services. Ensure documentation includes start/stop times for time-based codes.
