Train providers and billing staff on replacement codes per the deletion crosswalk provided (e.g., use 86664, 86694, 86762, or 86777 instead of 80090; use 85007 or 85027 instead of 85023). Update Hospital Manual and internal coding guidelines. Verify all pathology/laboratory claims submitted between January 1 and May 1, 2003 use only the newly added codes. Failure to update codes will result in claim denials and processing delays for New Jersey Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare claims.
