Summary
New Jersey now requires ABA, DIR, BA, and IIC providers to complete FBI background checks instead of state-only checks. Existing employees have until April 26, 2026 to complete the new federal background check requirement.
Action Required
By April 26, 2026: Providers of ABA, DIR, BA and IIC services must schedule new Federal background checks through ECCU for all employees. Contact ECCU for ABA/DIR providers or CSOC for IIC/BA providers to obtain new service code forms. Discard old forms as past fingerprints cannot be used. New employees cannot provide services without a 'cleared' letter. Submit archive requests monthly by the 15th for two-year renewals.
