Summary
Effective July 1, 2025, BCBSWY is removing Humira from all formularies and replacing it with preferred adalimumab biosimilars (Hadlima, Simlandi, adalimumab-aaty, adalimumab-adaz). Additionally, all Wyoming Educators' Benefit Trust (WEBT) members will transition to Wyoming Total Choice network with new ID cards showing 'PPO' indicator and 'YWY' prefix.
Action Required
Before July 1, 2025: Billing team must identify all Humira patients and coordinate with providers to transition prescriptions to preferred biosimilars (Hadlima, Simlandi, adalimumab-aaty, adalimumab-adaz). Update patient records to reflect formulary changes and inform patients about copay assistance availability. For WEBT members: Update billing system to recognize new 'YWY' member ID prefix and verify 'PPO' network indicator on new ID cards. Check all patient insurance cards during visits to ensure accurate identification and prevent claim denials.
