Summary
BCBSND updated diagnosis codes for Allergy Skin Testing effective January 1, 2026. The policy removed codes Z91.011 and Z91.012, and added new codes 0110, Z91.0111, Z91.0112, Z91.0120, Z91.0121, and Z91.0122. This change was supposed to be communicated in January but was missed until now.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must update diagnosis code mapping in billing system for allergy skin testing procedures. Replace removed codes Z91.011 and Z91.012 with appropriate new codes (0110, Z91.0111, Z91.0112, Z91.0120, Z91.0121, Z91.0122) based on specific patient conditions. Review any claims submitted since January 1, 2026 using the old codes and resubmit if necessary. Update encounter forms and EMR templates to reflect new diagnosis codes.
