Summary
Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) has discontinued coverage for DME codes A9276, A9277, and A9278 effective immediately, retroactive to September 7, 2023. These older continuous glucose monitor codes must be replaced with newer corresponding codes (A4238, A4239, E2102, E2103) for proper reimbursement.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must stop using discontinued DME codes A9276, A9277, and A9278 for all IHCP claims. Replace A9276 with A4238 or A4239, A9277 with A4238 or A4239, and A9278 with E2102 or E2103 based on device type. Update billing software rules and encounter forms. Review and resubmit any denied claims from September 7, 2023 forward using correct replacement codes. Claims using old codes will not be reimbursed.
