- By August 25, 2026 (immediately): Billing team must access the complete RP policies on BCBS IL's RP page for each of the 15 updated policies to identify specific CPT/HCPCS codes affected and detailed payment rule changes.
02This policy document does not list specific codes.
03- Before July 24, 2026: Review and implement changes for RP016 (Chiropractic Care Services) and RP043 (Lactation Support Services).
04- Before August 14, 2026: Review and implement changes for RP031 (Trauma Activation - Facility Services) and RP035 (Unlisted/Not Otherwise Classified Coding Policy).
05- Before August 21, 2026: Review and implement changes for RP021 (Laboratory Panel Billing).
06- Before November 16, 2026: Review and implement changes for RP052 (Robotic Assisted Surgery).
07- Before December 4, 2026: Review and implement changes for all RPLAB policies (Prenatal Screening, Oral Cancer Screening, Pathogen Panel Testing, Biomarkers for MI/CHF, General Inflammation Testing, Urine Culture Testing, GGT Testing, Coronavirus Testing, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Testing, Microorganism Identification, and Colorectal Cancer Screening).
08- Providers and billing staff should update EMR/billing software with new payment methodologies and coding rules from each policy.
09- Failure to implement these changes by effective dates may result in claim denials or incorrect reimbursement.
