By August 1, 2025: Billing team must implement the following: (1) Do NOT bill any claims for Magnetic Resonance Neurography services to Aetna; (2) Inform ordering providers that MRN is not a covered service and alternative imaging (standard MRI) or EMG/nerve conduction studies should be ordered instead; (3) Update provider communications and referral guidelines to reflect non-coverage; (4) Train front desk and clinical staff to educate patients that MRN is experimental and not covered by Aetna, and they will be responsible for any out-of-pocket costs if they choose to proceed; (5) Do not submit claims for ICD-10 codes G50.0-G59, S04.011A-S04.9xxS, S14.0xxA-S14.9xxS, S24.0xxA-S24.9xxS, S34.01xA-S34.9xxS, S44.00xA-S44.92xS, S54.00xA-S54.92xS, S64.00xA-S64.92xS, S74.00A-S74.92xS, S84.00xA-S84.92xS, or S94.00xA-S94.92xS when they represent MRN as the service. Failure to comply will result in claim denials and potential contractual violations.
