Update billing software, pharmacy benefit management system, and clinical documentation templates to enforce new prior authorization workflows for: Antiretroviral, Bempedoic Acid, Cardiac Myosin Inhibitors, Dry Eye Disease, FCS, PCSK9 Inhibitors, Phosphate Binders, Resistant Hypertension Agents, Resmetirom, Vascepa, Weight Management, Oxybate (effective Aug 1), Wakix (effective Aug 1), and all Medical Pharmacy Solutions Program medications (Alhemo, coagulation factors, oncology agents, ophthalmology medications, etc.). Train billing and prior authorization staff on new requirements. Contact your BCBS Kansas provider relations representative for clarification on specific coverage criteria.
