Summary
Effective February 1, 2026, Geisinger Health Plan is discontinuing the Daily Inpatient Fax Report for prior authorization status updates. All authorization details, including status checks, review dates, readmission information, and discharge documentation, will now be accessed exclusively through the Cohere Portal. The billing team must transition from fax-based reporting to real-time portal access.
Action Required
By January 31, 2026: Billing team must register all staff with the Cohere Portal (855-460-8026 for support). Stop relying on Daily Inpatient Fax Reports and transition all authorization status checks to real-time Cohere Portal queries. Update internal workflows and communication protocols to access authorization status, review dates, readmission information, and discharge documentation through Cohere instead of fax. Train all relevant staff on Cohere Portal functionality, including how to upload clinical documentation and submit discharge information. Failure to transition to Cohere Portal may result in delayed authorization status visibility and potential claim processing delays.
