Summary
The Missouri Department of Mental Health and Brain Injury Waiver program is implementing a hard launch of Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) requirements on October 1, 2026. After this date, all claims for DDD and Brain Injury Waiver personal care services (Provider Type 85) must have an active EVV vendor in the EVV Aggregator Solutions (EAS) system and verified visits documented, or claims will be automatically denied.
Action Required
By September 30, 2026: Providers billing for Department of Mental Health Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and Brain Injury Waiver personal care services (Provider Type 85) must complete the following: (1) Establish and verify an active EVV vendor relationship in the EVV Aggregator Solutions (EAS) system if not already completed; (2) Confirm new or switched EVV vendors are registered in EAS before billing; (3) Ensure all participants are enrolled in EAS for each specific provider account (participants do not automatically transfer between provider IDs); (4) For multi-provider-type operations, work with EVV vendor to submit participant listings to Sandata for each separate EAS account to enable visit-to-claim matching; (5) Log into EAS before each billing cycle to verify all visits are in verified status. Billing team must update claim submission workflows to validate EVV verification status prior to claim submission. After October 1, 2026, any claims submitted without verified EVV documentation will be automatically denied. Contact Sandata at MOAltEVV@sandata.com or (833) 350-5844 for EAS questions, or Ask.EVV@dss.mo.gov for EVV claims validation inquiries.
