Summary
AHCCCS has corrected previous guidance and now allows Counseling Facility providers to bill T1016 (case management services) within their scope of practice. This reverses an April 29, 2025 notice that previously indicated T1016 was not covered for counseling facility providers.
Action Required
Immediately: Counseling Facility providers can now bill T1016 (case management services) for AHCCCS patients when medically necessary and within scope of counseling activities. Update billing system to allow T1016 for CF provider types. Verify provider registration shows CF status and includes all approved HCPCS codes: H0001, H0002, H0004, H0023, H0031, H2011, T1016.
