Summary
Michigan Medicaid temporarily allows Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy services to be provided via telemedicine during COVID-19. All telemedicine therapy services must use both audio and visual capabilities, be billed with Place of Service 02 and GT modifier, and follow existing documentation requirements.

Immediately for Michigan Medicaid: Billing team must update system to allow telemedicine billing for specified PT/OT/ST codes using Place of Service 02 and GT modifier. Update encounter forms to remind providers that telemedicine therapy requires both audio and visual capabilities, physician consent, and thorough documentation of assessment findings. All existing therapy authorization, documentation, and service limit requirements remain in effect.
