Summary

Michigan Medicaid has added new HCPCS codes for various provider types effective April 1, 2022, including telemedicine codes that don't require POS 02 or GT modifier, and retroactive coverage for several codes dating back to January 2022. The Health and Aging Services Administration has been renamed to Behavioral and Physical Health and Aging Services Administration (BPHASA).

Immediately: Update billing system to include new HCPCS codes effective April 1, 2022. Add prior authorization requirements for codes K1030, K1031, K1032, K1033, and V2522. Configure telemedicine codes 98966-98968, 98970-98972, and 99421-99423 to NOT use POS 02 or GT modifier. Remove discontinued codes 0097U, 0151U, C9084-C9087, G1009 (effective March 31, 2022) and M1145 (effective February 27, 2022). Verify retroactive billing capability for codes with January-March 2022 effective dates.
