Summary
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas will terminate provider network participation for unused record IDs if no claims are filed within 24 months. Providers must actively file claims under each record ID to maintain network status.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must review all provider record IDs to identify any that haven't had claims filed within the past 24 months. File claims under at-risk record IDs before they reach the 24-month threshold. Create ongoing monitoring system to ensure claims are filed under each record ID at least every 24 months to prevent network termination. For any already-canceled record IDs, complete the provider onboarding form to apply for reinstatement.
