Summary
New Jersey Medicaid now requires all licensed, certified home health agencies to post a $50,000 surety bond before February 27, 1998. The effective date was postponed from January 1, 1998. Claims for services provided on or after February 27, 1998 will be denied if the agency lacks the required bond.
Action Required
By February 27, 1998: Home health agencies participating in New Jersey Medicaid must post a $50,000 surety bond using the acceptable form provided by DMAHS. Failure to post the bond will result in denial of all home health claims with service dates on or after February 27, 1998, and the State may recover ineligible payments.
