Summary
New Jersey Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare updated their list of approved practitioner-administered drugs with new HCPCS codes added effective January 1, 2002, deletions effective July 1, 2002, and revised reimbursement rates. Providers must use the updated fee schedule and enter AWP or acquisition cost (whichever is lower) in block 24F on CMS 1500 forms.

Immediately: Billing team must update fee schedules with the new maximum allowable rates for listed HCPCS codes. Update billing software to ensure AWP or acquisition cost (whichever is lower) is entered in block 24F on CMS 1500 forms for these drug codes. Replace previous practitioner-administered drug lists with this updated version for New Jersey Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare claims.
