Action Required
By January 21, 2025: Hospital billing teams in New Mexico must update billing systems to capture CARA POSC services as outpatient claims using CPT codes 99238, 99239, 99231, 99232, or 99233 with U1 modifier and revenue code 0220. Use infant's billing information, not mother's. Submit any eligible claims from October 1, 2024 forward within 90 days to avoid untimely filing denials.
