Summary
Michigan Medicaid will no longer pay for overlapping Home Health Care Service visits starting August 1, 2025. Only the first visit submitted to HHAeXchange will be processed when visits overlap in time, even partially.
Action Required
By August 1, 2025: Home health billing teams must update scheduling and billing procedures to prevent overlapping visit times. Implement system checks in HHAeXchange to flag potential overlaps before submission. Train schedulers to ensure no home health visits have overlapping start/end times on the same day. Overlapping visits will result in non-payment for the second visit.
