Summary
L.A. Care is transitioning the Child Health and Disability Prevention Program (CHDP) effective July 1, 2024, introducing new provider portals and requiring mandatory training for all providers serving children and youth under 21. Providers must complete training to access the Children's Presumptive Eligibility (CPE) portal and use the Newborn Gateway Presumptive Eligibility (NGPE) portal within 72 hours of birth.
Action Required
By end of 2024: All providers serving children under 21 must complete mandatory CHDP transition training through L.A. Care University External Learner portal using registration code LACARE25. Register for instructor-led sessions covering CPE and NGPE portal usage, vision screening, audiometric screening, anthropometric screening, and fluoride varnish procedures. Providers must attend both required training sessions to maintain CHDP program participation and access new portals.
