Summary
BCBSRI is transitioning to MHK as the new platform for entering prior authorization requests for outpatient services and acute inpatient care, effective September 23, 2019. Training sessions are being offered in August 2019 to help providers learn the new system.
Action Required
Before September 23, 2019: All staff responsible for prior authorizations must attend MHK training sessions or schedule office training by emailing ProviderRelationsSeminars@bcbsri.org with name, number of attendees, and preferred date/location. Update prior authorization workflows to use MHK platform instead of current system. Failure to transition could result in delays or denials of prior authorization requests.
