Summary
Beginning November 1, 2019, BCBSRI's Health Trio referral tool will change its default referral duration from one year to three months. Providers can still manually adjust referral dates up to one year when needed.
Action Required
By November 1, 2019: All providers must adjust their referral workflow in the Health Trio system to account for the new three-month default duration. When entering referrals, manually extend the date range if longer than three months is needed (up to one year maximum). Train staff on the new default setting to avoid unintended short-term referrals.
