BCBSRI is temporarily waiving all member cost-sharing (copays, coinsurance, and deductibles) for COVID-19 related treatments through May 4th, 2020, or longer if extended. This applies to in-network providers and facilities for commercial and Medicare Advantage members.
Action Required
Until May 4, 2020 (or extended): Billing team must update system to waive all copays, coinsurance, and deductibles for COVID-19 related treatments for BCBSRI commercial and Medicare Advantage members. Monitor BCBSRI website for updated coding and billing policies. Self-funded employer groups may opt-in separately - verify coverage before waiving cost-sharing.
