BCBSRI has implemented a temporary policy waiving all member cost sharing for COVID-19 laboratory testing. Providers must NOT collect any copays, deductibles, or coinsurance from BCBSRI members for coronavirus-related lab tests.

Immediately: Billing team must update system to waive all cost sharing (copays, deductibles, coinsurance) for COVID-19 laboratory testing for BCBSRI members. Update front desk procedures to ensure staff do not collect any patient payments for coronavirus lab tests. Notify lab staff and providers of this change.
