Summary
Medicare Advantage referrals continue to be waived for BlueCHiP for Medicare members through the end of 2021 due to the public health emergency. Referrals do not need to be entered in Health Trio, but are still required for all commercial plans that normally require them.
Action Required
Through December 31, 2021: Do not enter referrals in Health Trio for BlueCHiP Medicare Advantage members. Continue processing referrals normally for all commercial plans that require them. Monitor BCBSRI provider portal Alerts & Updates section for future waiver status changes from CMS.
