Summary
BCBSRI has extended the Temporary Cost Share Waiver for Treatment of Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 until further notice, with some policy changes. This waiver applies to in-network providers only for commercial products and both in-network and out-of-network providers for Medicare Advantage plans.

Immediately: Billing team must review the updated COVID-19 cost share waiver policy by accessing the link provided in the policy update. Verify billing system settings continue to waive cost sharing for confirmed COVID-19 treatments for in-network commercial patients and all Medicare Advantage patients (in and out-of-network).
