Summary
BCBSRI will terminate provider agreements for providers who haven't submitted claims for one year, with terminations occurring twice yearly on August 1 and February 1. Providers receive 90-day written notice before termination and must go through standard credentialing to rejoin.
Action Required
Immediately: Contact inactiveproviders@bcbsri.org if your practice received a termination notice for inactivity but wishes to remain a BCBSRI participating provider. Billing team should review claim submission history to ensure at least one claim is submitted annually under each provider's tax ID to avoid future terminations. Monitor for termination notices twice yearly (around August 1 and February 1).
