Summary
Anthem Blue Cross (California) has made HEDIS provider resource materials available through Availity Payer Spaces for all plan types. These materials include coding guidance, measure-specific information, and documentation support to help providers accurately report quality measures. Billing and clinical teams should access and distribute these resources to improve HEDIS measure compliance and documentation accuracy.
Action Required
By March 20, 2026 or immediately: (1) Billing team, medical coders, and quality team leads should register for or access Availity Essentials at https://Availity.com if not already registered (registration is free; call 800-AVAILITY for assistance). (2) Log into Availity Essentials, select California, select the appropriate payer from Payer Spaces dropdown, and navigate to the Resources tab to download HEDIS tip sheets, measure-specific guidance, and documentation support materials as PDFs. (3) Distribute these materials to all relevant staff including providers, clinical staff, nurses, medical coders, and quality team members. (4) Schedule team review sessions to ensure staff understand coding, documentation, and reporting requirements for applicable HEDIS measures. (5) For organizations with multiple Tax Identification Numbers (TINs), ensure each TIN is registered in Availity Essentials. Failure to access and implement HEDIS guidance may result in inaccurate measure reporting, improper reimbursement, and compliance issues with Anthem Blue Cross.
