Summary
BCBSRI updated their standard fee schedule effective November 1, 2022, based on the 2021 Rhode Island Medicare Fee Schedule. Evaluation & Management (E&M) services for both primary care and specialist providers will see net rate increases, while other codes have mixed upward and downward adjustments following Medicare changes.
Action Required
By September 1, 2022: System administrators must log into the BCBSRI provider portal at bcbsri.com to access updated fee schedules under 'fee schedules' navigation. Review codes/services your office frequently provides to identify specific rate changes. Non-administrators must register for system administrator access using NPI, TAX ID, DOB and email. Update billing system with new reimbursement rates for E&M services and other affected codes before November 1, 2022 effective date.
