Summary
BCBSRI is now strictly enforcing the requirement for valid cover sheets when submitting medical records. The medical records team is returning any submissions without proper cover sheets by mail, which will delay claim processing and payments.
Action Required
Immediately: All staff submitting medical records to BCBSRI must include one of the approved cover sheets (Claim adjustment form, Appeal form, Medical records form, DME unlisted code form, Unlisted procedure claim form professional/facility, or Response letter). Download current forms from bcbsri.com > Providers > Forms. Medical records without cover sheets will be returned by mail, delaying claim resolution.
