Summary
BCBSRI has expanded behavioral health access appointments to include two additional practices as of November 2022. Providence Behavioral Health Associates and Rhode Island Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy now offer urgent appointments for children, adolescents, and adults needing psychiatry or therapy services. When BCBSRI patients need urgent behavioral health care, providers should call these practices directly and indicate they need a BCBSRI urgent appointment.

Immediately: Update referral processes to include Providence Behavioral Health Associates and Rhode Island Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for urgent behavioral health needs. Train staff to call these practices directly when BCBSRI patients need urgent psychiatry or therapy appointments and specify 'BCBSRI urgent appointment.' Update referral contact lists and workflows to include these two new practices alongside existing LifeStance Health option.
