Summary
BCBSRI has removed all quantity limits for ADHD stimulant medications (Adderall, Concerta, Ritalin, etc.) to address the nationwide stimulant shortage. These medications have no prior authorization requirements and coverage includes both brand and generic versions.

Immediately: Billing team should inform providers that BCBSRI members can now receive higher quantities of ADHD stimulant medications without quantity limits. Update patient education materials to advise members they can ask pharmacies for brand name alternatives if generic versions are unavailable.
