Summary
Brewster Ambulance Service is no longer in the BCBSRI network effective January 1, 2023. All BCBSRI network providers must stop referring patients to Brewster and use only in-network ambulance providers for non-emergency transport services.
Action Required
Immediately: Stop all referrals to Brewster Ambulance Service for BCBSRI members. Update referral protocols and provider lists to use only in-network ambulance providers for non-emergency transport. Contact Provider Relations at ProviderRelations@bcbsri.org for the updated list of in-network ambulance providers. Failure to use in-network providers violates BCBSRI contract obligations.
