CMS is reminding Medicare Advantage Organizations to work with contracted providers to review, update, and certify provider information in the National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). Providers must update practice addresses, contact information, and specialty data, ensuring all active practice locations where patients can schedule appointments are included.
Action Required
Immediately: Providers must log into NPPES to review and update their provider information including name, mailing address, telephone/fax numbers, and specialty. Add all addresses where you actively practice and see patients and remove any inactive practice locations. After updating, certify the information in NPPES. Note: This does not affect Medicare Fee-For-Service billing.
