CMS is reminding Medicare Advantage Organizations and their contracted providers to review, update, and certify their provider information in the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). Providers must ensure all practice locations, contact information, and specialties are current and accurate.
Action Required
Immediately: Providers must log into NPPES to review and update their provider information including name, mailing address, telephone/fax numbers, and specialty. Add all active practice locations where patients are seen and can call for appointments. Remove any inactive practice locations. After updating, providers must certify the information is accurate in NPPES. Note: This does not affect Medicare Fee-For-Service billing.
