Summary
BCBSRI is updating their Quality Incentive Program reporting to use HEDIS MY2024 specifications starting with August reporting. Key changes include retiring the Colorectal Cancer Screening measure (COL) and replacing it with COL-E, renaming the diabetes measure from HBD to GSD, and implementing stricter criteria for identifying diabetes patients. Member panels will freeze starting with October reporting.
Action Required
By October 2024: Primary care providers participating in PQIP must review and finalize their attributed patient panels as no changes can be made after panels freeze. Update quality reporting systems to use HEDIS MY2024 specifications starting with August reporting. Ensure diabetes patients meet new stricter identification criteria (two diagnoses required for claims-based identification, pharmacy data must include at least one diagnosis). Contact QualityHEDIS@bcbsri.org for assistance with reporting questions.
