Summary
Effective January 1, 2025, BCBSRI will no longer delegate infertility service authorization requests to WINFertility. All authorization requests for infertility services must now be submitted directly through the BCBSRI portal (MHK) for fully insured members.
Action Required
By January 1, 2025: Billing team must stop submitting infertility service authorization requests through WINFertility. Update workflow to submit all infertility authorization requests through the BCBSRI portal (MHK) for fully insured members. Notify providers treating infertility patients of the new authorization process.
